Research Interests

I am currently a research fellow on the ERC-funded project ‘Investigating Networks of Zoonosis Innovation’ (INZI), which aims to analyse the complex interplay of actors, policies and projects that have shaped research into and control of African Trypanosomiasis until the present day. Aligned with that project I hold broad interests in Neglected Tropical Diseases, One Health, drug discovery and the development of new drugs and diagnostics for infectious diseases.

I am also interested in issues around global health (politics, partnerships, policy and financing), development coordination, and aid effectiveness in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Previous projects undertaken while at Edinburgh have included a PhD (entitled ‘Prescribing Aid Coordination in Uganda’s Health Sector’), a systematic review of the evidence for the UK’s Department for International Development (entitled ‘The impact of aid on maternal and reproductive health’) and a consultancy for Oxfam America looking into the effectiveness of US foreign assistance to Rwanda.
