The Royal African Society promotes relations between the UK and Africa as a whole - raising understanding and interest in all issues relating to Africa. Many of our students are RAS members, jointly with ASAUK.
The Africa Studies Association of the UK promotes lively debate in the academic study of Africa and is open to anyone with an interest in African Studies.
The United Kingdom Forum for International Education and Training (UKFIET) aims to shareideas, knowledge and expertise among all who work in international education matters
The British Association for International & Comparative Education (BAICE) promotes teaching, research, policy and development in all aspects of international and comparative education.
EADI - European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes - an active network of 170 organisations with 14 working groups addressing key issues in Development Research, Training and Information. EADI runs a Summer School each September which CAS helps organise.
AEGIS - The Africa-Europe Group for Interdisciplinary Studies (AEGIS) - brings together research institutions and expertise on Africa with emphasis on Social Sciences and Humanities.
NORRAG - Network for Policy Review Research and Advice on Education and Training. Membership of this network which critically reviews aid policy is open at no cost to our students.
Global Health Academy - Co-ordinates and supports the University of Edinburgh's internationally-focused, interdisciplinary global health research.
African Borderlands Research Network (ABORNE) is an interdisciplinary
network of over 200 researchers and institutions throughout Europe, Africa and North America working on international borders and trans-boundary phenomena in Africa. Paul Nugent is the chairman and Wolfgang Zeller is the coordinator of ABORNE.
Working Group for International Cooperation in Skills Development
- an informal group of bi and multilateral donor agencies and international organisations involved in international assistance to vocational and technical skills development.SOCRATES link with CAS Copenhagen . Each year our staff and students have the opportunity to spend time in this leading centre of African Studies in the University of Copenhagen, and to welcome Copenhagen staff and students in Edinburgh.
CAS has a research partnership with the African Centre of Technology Studies in Nairobi, Kenya.
