The Centre of African Studies fundraising champagne reception will be held on 10th April at the beautiful Playfair Library.

All the money we raise at this event will go towards Scholarships for African students, to ensure that the best and brightest can come to study at Edinburgh, regardless of their economic circumstances. At present these scholarships are under threat for next year. This champagne reception marks the launch of our campaign to ensure that they continue into 2015-2016, and beyond.

Every ticket also buys you entrance into a prize draw for a week in Parma, single malt whisky, a Beara Beara bag, signed artwork, signed books by Alexander McCall Smith, Swahili lessons, and more...

We would love for you to join us to celebrate another year of exciting study and cutting-edge research at the Centre for African Studies, enjoy champagne and canapes, listen to a fantastic guest speaker from Mercy Corps, speak with award-winning author Tendai Huchu,  and support the next generation of African students at the centre.

You can book your fundraising tickets here. If you cannot make the fundraising drinks, but would still like to support upcoming African scholars to study at the centre, you can also do so here. Every donation is greatly appreciated.
