AID EFFECTIVENESS IN RWANDA
Rachel Hayman and CAS PhD student Emma Taylor head to Rwanda this month to carry out research for Oxfam America on American assistance to Rwanda.
This consultancy project feeds into a broader campaign Oxfam America are running to seek reform of certain aspects of American aid. It aims at pushing for greater transparency in how US aid agencies inform partner governments and organisations about their aid, and at pushing for aid to be better attuned to the policy objectives and priorities of partner countries. A number of country studies are currently being carried out aimed at gathering perspectives from US aid workers on the ground, from recipient governments and organisations, and from local civil society.
