CAS welcomes three new academic appointments
Dr Gerhard Anders has joined CAS as a new lecturer in African Studies and International Development, joining us from the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Zurich. His research interests are legal anthropology, political anthropology - in particular the anthropology of the postcolonial state - development studies, international criminal justice, transnational crime control and humanitarian interventions
Sam Spiegel has joined CAS as a new lecturer in International Development, joining us from Geography at Cambridge University, where he has recently submitted his doctorate. Sam uses informal mining as a means to study the interactions between international development, governance, public health and political economy.
Dr Davide Chinigo is joining CAS as a research fellow on the DFID PISCES project, joining us from African Studies at the University of Bologna. He has recently completed his PhD which focused on land reform, rural development and decentralisation in Ethiopia.
