Seminar on African NGOs in CAS Distance Learning Programme
to be held on Thursday 1 December. On Thursday 1 December, students from four continents will be participating in an online seminar forum on the topic of Understanding NGOs in Africa: Civil Society in Dynamic Political Landscapes. This is being organized as part of the Postgraduate Certificate Programme in Africa and International Development, an innovative new online distance learning programme that enables students to study from anywhere in the world.
Through live video interaction, the student presentations will reflect on research during the Politics and Theories of International Development course and practical experiences in the field. The seminar will be facilitated by Sam Spiegel and it will explore dynamic relationships between civil society organizations, donors and governments across Africa.
Technical support for participants will be provided by Caroline Dobson-Davies, an e-learning specialist who recently joined the School of Social and Political Science and is working with the Centre of African Studies on the development of new distance learning programmes.
