Ed Wilmsen gains funding for work on the potters in Botswana

The project title is Pottery, clays, and lands: an ethnoarchaeological study of the social dimensions of pottery in Botswana.

Funding has been granted from the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research in New York.

Anne and two University Botswana colleagues will work with Ed along with local labour.  They will excavate an Iron Age site and a clay mine located next to each other and continue interviews and observations of potters that they began in 2010-12, filming both.
