Paul Nugent as new co-editor of Journal of Modern African Studies
Paul Nugent has taken over as editor of the Journal of Modern African Studies along with Leonardo Villalón of the University of Florida. JMAS, which is published quarterly by Cambridge University Press, was founded in 1963 - and therefore celebrates its 50th anniversary alongside CAS - and remains one of the top Area Studies journals. Remarkably, it has only ever had two editors prior to the handover to Paul and Leo, the first being David Kimble (later with Helen Kimble) and the second Christopher Clapham.
