African Food Battle champion 2016 - Tickets NOW on sale!

Tickets can be purchased at

We are excited to welcome you all to Edinburgh for next week’s conference on Decolonizing the Academy:

In conjunction with our conference on Decolonizing the Academy  a dinner has been organized for Thursday 21 April which will see four African restaurants, all based in Edinburgh, compete to decide who will be crowned African Food Battle champion 2016!  Dinner guests will sample their dishes and cast their vote, as well as be treated to the storytelling of Mara Menzies, the comedy of Njambi Mcgrath, the electrifying drumming of the University’s own DrumSoc and music from the founding member of the Bhundu Boys (Zimbabwe), Rise Kagona.

This is a reminder that tickets will also be publicised more broadly and in the past have sold out extremely quickly.  If you wish to ensure your attendance, we highly recommend that you purchase tickets soon, as we will not be able to guarantee availability.

Tickets can be purchased at

Your £20 ticket will include the courses from each restaurant, a selection of desserts later in the evening, and all the entertainment. In addition, we will be selling a wide range of African drinks at the event at excellent prices, including Tusker, Castle, Star, Nigerian Guiness, South African wines and North African coffee.

If you have any questions about the evening, please do not hesitate to Anne at

Best wishes,
