Centre of African Studies: News

CAS Research Fellow Dr Maggie Dwyer has been offered a prestigious Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship

The project, which will span 36 months, is titled ‘Peacekeeping Veterans: Deployment Effects on African Soldiers and Communities.’

By concentrating on veterans and their home environments, the project treats peacekeeping as an experience that has potential effects that extend far beyond the deployment timeframe and deployment location. This project builds on her recent monograph, Soldiers in Revolt: Army Mutinies in Africa, and solidifies Maggie’s position as a leading expert on conflict and militaries in Africa.

Congratulations Maggie!
