‘Developing Data’ project awarded GCRF grant
We are pleased to announce that a new project, titled ‘Developing Data? Markets and Politics in a Digital Age’, has been awarded a GCRF Digital Innovation for Development in Africa grant.
Under the leadership of Principle Investigator Thomas Molony, the project focuses on economic and political uses of data in African contexts.
The project team includes researchers from the Centre of African Studies (CAS) at the University of Edinburgh, the Center for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (CIPIT) at Strathmore University’s Strathmore Law School in Nairobi, and the Collaboration on International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa (CIPESA) in Kampala.
The other CAS-based researchers who will be working on the project are Kevin Donovan, Mohammad Amir Anwar, and Robert Macdonald.
