My current research interests lie in the tourism-development nexus in the Maasai Mara, Kenya. For my thesis I am analysing interpretations of ‘development’ within the former Koiyaki Group Ranch, which borders the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Following this, perceptions of the relationship between ecotourism in the conservancies bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve and development are explored. In the broader sense, I am interested in the role of business can play in developing communities.
This research is a continuation of two prior research projects undertaken in the Maasai Mara area, at Undergraduate and Masters level.
